I can help guide you as we together sort through these distressing situations and find increased understanding, clarification, self-awareness and acceptance. Melissa Fountain Jennings, MA, MCJ, LPC, LAC, ACS
I have worked in the mental health field for 26 years for a non-profit mental health agency prior to starting private practice in 2017 under the name of Pathwise Counseling & Skills Center, PLLC. My experience includes helping adults and adolescents ages 15+ with the challenges of depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, relationships, self-esteem, and coping with everyday life.
In my approach to counseling, I am committed to being client-centered, strength-based, culturally sensitive, and trauma informed. I most commonly practice evidence-based methods of various Cognitive Behavioral Therapies, Positive Psychology, Mindfulness, and Person-Centered Therapy. I have also served the community in the role of Clinical Supervisor for new counselor professionals since 2005. My approach to supervision is an integrated developmental model to meet the changing needs of the new counselor.
I graduated from the University of Colorado, Denver in 2003 with a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology & Counselor Education and have maintained licensure in Colorado as a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2005 and as a Licensed Addiction Counselor since 2017. I am nationally certified as an Approved Clinical Supervisor since 2019.
In my personal time, I enjoy traveling around Colorado's vast beauty, fishing, gardening, art, spending time with my beloved husband, family & friends and cozying up with my cats & a good book.
